“Through my work, I evoke the myths and memories of personal experience in the Natural World.”
As an artist living and working on a bustling corner of New Orleans, my creativity is fueled by the vibrant history of the city and the tranquil moments spent at my fishing camp in the Louisiana Salt Marsh. Through my work, I evoke the myths and memories of personal experience in the Natural World, creating a space for reflection on the complexities of existence.
I am a studio artist, crafting my pieces by layering oil paints and glazes on various surfaces such as wood, aluminum, burlap, and canvas. My artistic process involves painting from life, photos, memory, and my imagination to create dynamic and engaging pieces that reflect my deep connection to the world around me.
I've been captivated by diverse art movements from a young age, but it was my initial foray into Oil Painting at L.S.U. that truly ignited my artistic passion. Upon completing a B.A. in Journalism and Sculpture, I sought further education at the New Orleans Academy Of Fine Arts. Here, I delved into the traditional techniques of Painting, Drawing, and Sculpting from life in the esteemed "academic" fashion.
